The burnished green 'Reine Claude' plums seem to be carrying out the train of summer's gown this year. As they are coming into ripeness they are sweet with a tangy edge but when they are fully ripe, when their skins feel like they can barely hold in their small weight, then they taste like drops of golden honey. Heady and youthful. Generous and joyous.
