When we arrived in our lodgings for the week of the shoot in the Pyrenees, our host had left me a bouquet of wildflowers from the fields, "For Mother's Day." she said, as it was French Mother's Day. These blooms would be a ribbon through the coming days, blanketing the flat plains of valleys, edging rocky cliffs, bursting around tumbles of boulders. I would find them everywhere we went.
